The Sections:
In Scouting, every young person is a Scout, no matter their age. The Scouting Programme spans ages 4–25, divided into different Sections. Each Section has its own identity, ethos, and style, with adult support tailored to the age group.
Squirrels: (Aged 4–6)
Our youngest members start in a Squirrel Drey. For the first few meetings, they usually attend with a trusted adult to help them settle in. Meetings are on Mondays from 5.30 – 6.30pm at Moncrieff Church Centre, Glenbruar Crescent, Perth, PH2 0AJ.
Beaver Scouts: (Aged 6–8)
Members join a Beaver Scout Colony. (Minimum age 5¾, maximum 8½.) Beavers enjoy fun, skill-building activities designed for their age. Meetings are on Mondays from 6.15 – 7.15pm at the same venue.
Cub Scouts: (Aged 8–10½)
The Cub Scout Pack is for slightly older children. (A 6-month flexibility applies.) Cubs develop confidence, teamwork, and a love of adventure through a variety of activities. Meetings are on Mondays from 6.30 – 8.00pm at Moncrieff Church Centre.
Scouts: (Aged 10½–14)
The Scout Troop is for young people in this age range. (6-month flexibility applies.) Scouts take on more challenging activities, including skill development, and leadership opportunities. Meetings are on Mondays from 7.15 – 8.45pm at the same location.
We are committed to making Scouting accessible for all young people. If your child has additional support needs, we offer flexibility and extra support to help them fully participate and enjoy every activity.
